1. User obligations
Participants and enterprise clients agree to use Cipher Lantern Labs materials solely for authorized learning environments. You will not attempt to export lab artifacts into production systems without written approval from your organization. You must keep access credentials confidential and notify us immediately if credentials are exposed.
You represent that you have authority to bind your organization when registering teams. You agree not to misuse instructor communications, recordings, or shared repositories for unsolicited outreach. Any attempt to reverse engineer lab infrastructure beyond stated objectives may result in immediate removal without refund where permitted by applicable consumer rules.
2. Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles that would refer to another jurisdiction. Mandatory consumer protections applicable to residents in Japan remain unaffected. Where a dispute arises, parties will first attempt good-faith resolution through correspondence with our operations desk in Tokyo.
If informal resolution is unsuccessful, exclusive jurisdiction shall lie with the Tokyo District Court for business-to-business engagements, except where consumer law requires a different venue for individuals acting outside a trade or profession.
3. Service description
Cipher Lantern Labs delivers instructor-led ethical hacking workshops, readiness assessments, and related lab access as described on each workshop page. Schedules, tooling versions, and lab topology may change to reflect vendor updates or quality standards obligations communicated by external reviewers relevant to your sector.
We may substitute an equivalently qualified instructor when illness or travel disruption occurs. Recordings, if offered, are licensed for internal learning replay only and may not be redistributed. Corporate bootcamps may include custom objectives documented in a written statement of work.
4. Intellectual property
All curricula, lab manuals, diagrams, and assessment rubrics remain the intellectual property of Cipher Lantern Labs unless a separate license is signed. You receive a limited, non-exclusive license to use materials during the cohort window and for thirty days thereafter for internal study.
Feedback you provide may be incorporated into anonymized improvements without obligation to compensate you, except where a written agreement states otherwise. You retain ownership of your own work product created in labs, subject to not including our proprietary starter kits in public repositories.
5. Liability
Workshops discuss offensive techniques strictly inside controlled labs. Cipher Lantern Labs is not liable for misuse outside authorized environments. To the fullest extent permitted by Japanese law, our aggregate liability arising from any single engagement shall not exceed the fees paid for that engagement.
We do not warrant uninterrupted lab uptime; maintenance windows will be communicated when feasible. We are not responsible for third-party platform outages affecting calendar scheduling widgets embedded on the contact page.
6. Acceptance and termination
By submitting a registration form, paying an invoice, or attending a session, you accept these Terms. We may suspend access for conduct that jeopardizes other participants or violates acceptable use policies. Termination for convenience by either party follows the cancellation windows described in the Cancellation Policy.
Upon termination, your obligation to protect confidential materials survives. Sections concerning intellectual property, liability limitations, and governing law continue after termination where they reasonably apply.
